Merry Holly Happy Jolly!

My son's girlfriend created this astonishing celebratory bouquet to commemorate the launch of my new book, The Artificial Elephant. She hand-made each rose, included a tiny stuffed elephant, and they embedded other thoughtful details like a Lego minifig of me holding a book. I'm speechless.

Remember to celebrate your accomplishments. Stop for a moment and just let it wash over you. Life, and the people in it, are amazing.

Speaking of the new collection, holiday promotional prices are still in effect. Grab a copy of the paperback or ebook hot off the presses!

Yes, I’m gonna beg again, it helps authors more than you can imagine. Just takes a moment: some stars, a quick comment, done. Thank you!!

Behind the scenes extra

One of the short stories inThe Artificial Elephant is adapted from a chapter in an upcoming novel (tentatively titled Opposites Attract, though I doubt that title will make it all the way to print). It’s the cute little scavenger hunt story about Hector burying secret pirate treasure for Amy. And here’s me admitting that I’m Hector, and I actually buried that treasure for my wife many years ago. And the hippies really did pee in the hole and steal my shovel. Truth truly is stranger than fiction!

Teaser from Houses, book 4 in the Pendulum series

We’re still planning on getting this novel out sometime this winter.  Stay tuned!

Cillistra took a deep breath. Easily reaching across to Wil with her formerly injured arm, she cupped her empty fingers and mentally reached down into the place of frost at Wil’s center. She did the thing that South had taught her, but this time with far more control and precision. Their practice together in the cave had given her confidence.

Instead of taking all his power into herself, where it would be far too much for her to hold, she carefully shaped a small portion of the frost into their symbol, the silver rose. The rose grew swiftly in her hand, shimmering and unworldly in the morning light. Wil gasped.

She hadn’t fully known that she could do that, though she had hoped. She grinned. He smiled too, eyes as round as saucers. Then he threw himself into her arms, their hands intertwining around the rose. She felt the magic suffuse her, casting a delicious icy brilliance over them both.

“You’re extraordinary,” he breathed into her hair.

We are extraordinary,” she answered, holding him fiercely. Then they kissed for a very long time.

Talk soon, and thanks for all your support!
